Brother and Sister Team Monica and Jerome Johnson return home to W-S after 25 years of combined professional careers, to offer High Quality dance instruction in a supportive environment with a gentle and holistic approach; offering advanced quality education, dance training, building character and self-esteem, discipline, passion, and creativity at MJID. The purpose of our Dance program is to enlighten the community and introduce to others how artist give, share, and unite in celebration building strong individuals and positive futures.
The two have been working in collaboration with the Thomas S Kenan Institute for the Arts, and Susan Jaffe, Dean of Dance at UNCSA, to build our Happy Hill Arts program. Both University of North Carolina School of the Arts alumni of the School of Dance -- Monica Johnson and Jerome Johnson -- are instructing students who excel to Professional dancers, Broadway Stars, and their students received full academic and Arts achievements and awards to many Universities, and Institutions around the globe! Of recent, one of our summer program students was invited to audition for the UNCSA dance prep school, immediately accepted and given a scholarship! In addition, multiple students both women and men from all over the U.S. and the globe continue to experience success in academics and Company performances alike stemming from MJID instruction!
